Krishna Luchoomun
Krishna Luchoomun completed MFA at the ex-USSR Art Academy. He lives and works in Mauritius. In 2003, along with a few contemporary Mauritian artists, he had initiated a collective art practice named, pARTage in Mauritius. He is currently working as a lecturer at the Mahatma Gandhi Institute in Mauritius. He participated in a series of exhibitions and residencies in Netherlands, South Africa, USA, Botswana, China, UK, Portugal, Russia, Italy, Bangladesh, India, Tanzania, Japan, France, Namibia, Lithuania, Germany, Finland, and Seychelles. In his works, he uses traditions, mythologies, religions, politics and modern social behaviours to investigate the relationship between man and his immediate environment expressed through a variety of media including video, installations, photography, performance and painting.
